Professor Okihiro was pivotal to the creation of Asian American Studies in the Ivy League. We share our condolences to his family and loved ones.
We are deeply saddened at the passing of Professor Gary Okihiro. Gary was a teacher, mentor, activist, and friend to several generations of scholars. He was a beloved and vital presence in the building of our Association and of the field itself.
