i don't expect modders to touch this game, but considering the shadow portion is closest to frontiers, its gonna be super cool if skin mods can be made. (considering how involved the shadow model is tho in cinematics, it might be WAY too much work to mod in)

also pure aesthetic stuff, i hate the shadow fly animation when boosting lol. gimme more skating!!!! also where's the sa2 shadow skin??????? like why not compliment the sa1 skin?

oh and drop dash for og gens portion seems useless. its a cool addition but application is lacking. but it baffles me that shadow can't drop dash?? it was in frontiers, and i can genuinely think of better applications for the move since shadow moves slower than gens sonic

the shadow levels could genuinely stand up to gen's quality but the presentation is lacking in the camera department, there's just a small bit of polish missing to the experience and its kinda sad. otherwise still pretty nice overall

linear camera rotations, its still not as smooth and cinematic as generations which is still baffling. side by side the issue is apparent. the game could look so much better but the frontier's camera dates the game so badly.

oh the shadow portion is not without its critiques. for some reason, the hub world has a shockingly lacking amount of camera volumes to autorotate the camera at key points. there were so many times i had to manually rotate it for places that could easily have a fixed cam

to some, the shadow portion will be reason enough to buy this "remaster", and that's fine since its plenty fun on its own.

its a fine remaster but its not really a remaster. i cant say its the definitive version of generations, not with all the amazing mods original gens has and the lack of actual "remaster". (still boring 2d hub, up to 60fps cap, graphics not upgraded, some bugs)

overall the game seems pretty solid since its built off of the original gens which is already good. wish the shadow part wasn't frontiers engine tbh. shadow part is still very fun and better than frontier's cyberspace tho. mid level cutscenes are awesome and overall polished

there's plenty of small nitpicks and weird occurrences that i didn't think were in the og gens as well, but im not gonna nitpick it here

the game being locked at certain framerate levels is sucky. for a remaster idk why it doesn't allow up to 160 at least? (actually i kinda know why, it might break og gens, but for shadow's part...?)

i really can't stand shadow's voice here. it just doesn't sound like shadow at all. it's the exact same delivery as og gen's "you've got this sonic" line but for the entire game. its strange because i didn't mind force's line delivery but i can't stand it here

the shadow portion seems fun so far but really flawed. it has a lot of issues frontiers has, but it does feel slightly improved upon, like general control feels a lot better. still has an awful jump controls with mario 64 ass rotating but whatever.

the og gens portion seems fine, kinda harmless but also has missed potential. why not give sonic his own 3d whitespace to compliment shadow's? no option to apply the adventure skin to classic sonic? no shadow reskin for modern sonic?

the camera in modern sonic stages would straight up not work sometimes? in chemical plant, the last section's camera didn't rotate at all for a solid 15 seconds and starting jittering everywhere
