One of many big issues with the βwhitelashβ theory of Trumpism is that it, like most commentary, overrepresents the diehards when analyzing Trump supporters. It may be true these highly visible supporters voted out of spite but most of his voters are just low engagement normies.
This is why I think voters were full of shit when they said their #1 issue in 2024 was cost-of-living. They KNOW that voting on the basis of which candidate is more likely to feed immigrants to alligators is psychotic, so they had the sense to lie about it to pollsters.

This was vital, as this was not only a legislative misstep but a political one, as the splitting of BBB turned Bidenβs agenda into a discombobulated mess that voters didnβt understand. The left of course warned of this at the time and got rewarded with primary challenges. (Sigh).
Yet again making the point that Biden's decision to split the centerpiece of his presidency into two bills (the BBB & the infrastructure bill) was why it failed in 2021 - and we can see this by the fact that Trump just succeeded where he failed by doing the opposite.

The most important line: βDSA organizers have spent more than a decade embedding themselves in neighborhoods, parent-teacher organizations, and tenant associationsβ. This is how you defeat plutocracy. Attack ads canβt beat cultivated trust for a politician you know and recognize.
This is too good. @SaraL4man, the pro-genocide treasurer of βSolidarity PACβ (AIPAC Jr.) wrote an article about her failure to defeat NYC-DSA & our pro-Palestine allies. βWe learned the hard way that the far left has built real infrastructure that we could not compete withβ π₯π΅πΈ

Hard to think of a bigger ideological flop right now than Liberal Zionism. Even if you can still embrace its premise, thereβs a profound gap between the vision liberal diasporic Jews have for Israel and the vision Israeli Jews have for Israel that presents an unsolvable problem.
My new article on why Liberal Zionism is now causing far more harm than good and needs to be abandoned by anyone who cares about democracy and human rights. Read it for free.

Itβs pretty incredible that the people polling at -28% think they have the right to accuse the people polling at -9% of being an existential threat to their βbrand.β Even a demonstrably unpopular socialist party would be immeasurably less toxic than this Democratic establishment.

While contempt for Zohran Mamdani is hip and in vogue amongst insular sociocultural circles, irrationally rigid centrist ideologues and pernicious interest groups, the Silent Majority of Real Americans quietly approve of his agenda. The Conservative Elite should take notice.
Nationally - Net Support For Mamdani's Policies:. Raises Taxes On Corporations/Millionaires: +43%.Free Child Care For Children Under 5 Years: +38%.Freezing Rent For Lower-Income Tenants: +38%.Government-Owned Grocery Stores: +20%.Eliminating Fares On Public Buses: +10%. YouGov /.

Let this be a great reminder that good things can absolutely happen and progressives can absolutely win. I was an exceptionally staunch advocate for congestion pricing and even I did not expect it to work so incredibly well this quickly and completely. Genuinely a policy miracle.
-$500M in revenue in 6 months.-Rush hour delays at Holland Tunnel down 65%.-Subway ridership up 7%.-Bus ridership up 12%.-LIRR ridership up 8%.-Metro-North ridership up 6%.-Access-A-Ride ridership up 21%. Congestion pricing = smashing success.

Couldnβt agree more. The foundation of GOP strategy is imposing gish gallop on a national scale with complete message discipline. It was Bidenβs inflation, Bidenβs wars, Bidenβs border crisis, day after day, expressed in a demonizing way. Itβs the attention economy, stupid.
been thinking a lot about how The Left needs to create a new lane: not voter shaming, not Thoughts and Prayers, but relentlessly and viciously blaming our class enemies. when thereβs a disaster in texas it should be associated with cruz and abbott at benghazi/ clinton levels.
