House1000 wasnāt about setting a goal that seemed achievable, but setting a goal based upon what our community needed. The goal pushed our team each day to accomplish not what we imagined could be done, but what we believed must be done.

Dear Denver, we can be both a great city, and a good city. We can have a thriving economy, a vibrant downtown, and affordable housing for the people that make us great. Letās do this!

We should be heartbroken and furious about our governmentās failure to act on the migrant crisis.

Grateful to be in DC today sharing our lessons learned from Denverās House1000 initiativeānamely, that human centered public policy approaches like addressing encampments through housing access create transformative results for cities and the people that call those cities home.
We are proud to co-host the 2024 Housing Supply Innovation Symposium today with @TernerHousing. We welcome and thank all local and national leaders, experts, and investors who have joined us to discuss Human-Centered Approaches to Building and Accessing Housing.

True to his word, Mayor Mike Johnston got about 1,100 people off of downtown Denverās streets and into temporary housing in a remarkable six months. Almost all of those people are still sleepā¦

Congratulations to the mayorās team, whoāve worked so hard to bring people indoors. And congratulations to the over 1000 Denverites who now have a place to call home. Everyone deserves safe and stable housing! Weāre excited to see this program continue.
House 1,000 people living on Denver's street in under six months. Some people thought it was impossible, but I knew we had to confront homelessness in a big way if we wanted a big change. 1,034 people have come inside as Dec. 30. This is historic, and weāre just getting started.

This is indeed a victory. And a hard fought one. Iām proud of our city and mayor @MikeJohnstonCO for staying true to his word. This is only one battle in the fight, but my hope and confidence stands behind Mayor and his quest to house the unhoused. Well done.
