Did you know that we have two sets of stones here at Cogglesford. We have a French Burr Stone which we use to mill our White and Wholemeal flour, and we have a Derbyshire Grit stone which is used to mill our Spelt. Our stoneground flour is available in our shop. @heartoflincs

This week's #ThrowbackThursday is back to the eighteenth century. This piece of graffiti 'AE' on our stone floor is possibly one of the oldest bits of graffiti at our watermill with being from Anthony Elliot, who was the miller at Cogglesford from 1742-1762. @heartoflincs

A few times a year, we do a deep clean of our milling stones. Our volunteer team take apart all of the encompassing woodwork to let us get at the stones. Keep an eye on our social medias for when we will be doing this again as it is a unique opportunity to see our machinery!
