And yes. it's still being maintained and I spend every free minute that I have on it, to finally get to a proper 1.0 release. Lots of fixes still happening, made the whole codebase a lot more sturdy. Time is limited, unfortunately, though. It's ready when it's ready, I guess.

My little pet project Mozart just crossed the 2 million downloads mark! 🥳 Hard to fathom that it took 7 years (Jan 15 of this year) for the first million downloads to happen, while the second million was reached in less than 9 months!.

Wow. I honestly didn't think we would get to this point, but maybe I'm just more surprised that I'm actually surprised about this. The login page of the official WordPress open source project now requires you to pledge that you're not affiliated with WP Engine in any way. 🤯

It’s completely beyond the scope of this dispute that there’s an obvious conflict of interest between WordPress the open source software project, the WordPress Foundation and the for-profit company Automattic. What it shows is a need for more transparent governing of the project.

For the first time in over 15 years being involved with the WordPress project, I am ashamed of it. This hurts the trust in a software project that so many people have grown to love, as developers but more importantly as users. The users who love it to manage their websites with.

This is especially the case when the party causing this disruption, is WordPress. A piece of software that has historically bent over backwards to make the software as user friendly as possible. To not burden the end user with anything beyond their control, or comprehension.
