Eine neu veröffentlichte @FossilExit Studie zeigt: Wenn wir 1,5°C einhalten wollen, müssen die Abbauflächen der Braunkohle in der Lausitz um mehr als 50% reduziert werden. Angesichts der Landtagswahlen brauchen wir von der Politik daher konsequenten Klimaschutz statt Populismus!

Die größte Reduktion verlangt der Tagebau Reichwalde. In diesem Fall sollte die noch eingeplante Fläche um 70% reduziert werden. Dies würde ein wertvolles Waldgebiet in der Region schützen, Renaturierungskosten reduzieren und der #Lausitz eine bessere Planungsperspektive geben.

Auch der Tagebau Welzow muss verkleinert werden. Maßnahmen würden nicht nur das einzigartige Biotop der Region schützen, sondern auch neue Möglichkeiten zur regionalen Wertschöpfung öffnen und landwirtschaftliche Flächen bewahren.

In beiden Szenarien wird klar: Auch der Tagebau Nochten muss drastisch reduziert werden. Ein Abbau des Sonderfeld #Mühlrose und das dazugehörige Dorf ist weder aus wirtschaftlicher und umweltbezogener Sicht gerechtfertigt.

2) Unter der Betrachtung zweier Szenarien wurde geprüft, was das für die einzelnen Tagebaue bedeutet. Dabei wurde ein Klimaschutzszenario mit starken Reduktionen im Abbau mit einem wirtschaftlich-getriebenen #Kohleuasstieg2030 als Referenzszenario verglichen.
