Currently working through my Ed.D dissertation. Essentially my topic is on the effect on a student athlete when their football program is eliminated. My lit review encompasses academic and non academic affects of participation.

I get asked all the time as a football coach about my boys, and I couldn’t care less that my oldest Kyle doesn’t play football. He is a freaking stud in the band and I will be there supporting him always. So proud of him. ❤️

Constantly striving to be where my feet are. Playoffs week 1 - but it’s been a long 6 months since spring ball. People underestimate how emotionally exhausting being a HC is. You’re constantly giving your energy out and rarely refilling you’re own cup. Grateful for my brothers.

A credential shows value through commitment to the profession and entry level abilities/knowledge. I agree that it doesn’t show expertise, just as a 1st year RN isn’t an expert. But they typically have a lot more understanding of their profession than an outsider.

I grew up in Chico and Paradise at the same time. Played against Aaron in HS, but as kids we would play pick up games at the school together.
In HS he was good, but NOBODY thought he was next level. His belief and pursuit of his goals is what is most impressive about him.

Seen those kids and men in that program work hard for the last 4 years. Most people don’t see all the work that it takes to get to that point. Nothing is ever given. GN Football got off the ground in Spring 2017 with 13 kids. Hard work pays off. That’s the lesson.

We have skycoach, no issues! Much better than Hudl sideline in my opinion. Get a good person to set it up right and will work everytime, can’t say the same about Hudl.

I respectfully disagree.
Learning to love and embrace the grind can be a precursor to excellence. The path to our goals is often tough and uncomfortable, and typically is a “grind”. But learning to love that grind can allow for a lasting and transformational growth mindset.

People want to end football for our youth.
Football changes lives, teaching discipline, commitment, hard work, brotherhood... and more, on a level nowhere else seen.
In a world filled with weak men, football creates strong men of character. We need more football, not less.
It’s not just our fight.
The responsibility for harm to students arising from these hazards falls primarily on school officials & it is they who can eliminate the hazards by terminating the programs.

I haven’t seen an injury difference at the HS level from grass vs turf… and a poorly maintained grass field can be scary. Would love to see data on that.
But as a coach I love having a reliable and lined playable surface. And the kids prefer them.
