OL must have the ability to sit down and anchor on the Bull rush. 🔥🔥
Of course strength is important in sport, but power is likely even more important.
It can take 4-6 seconds to display max strength, but often times you don’t have that much time in sport.
How fast can you be strong in 1-2 seconds? That’s the million dollar question.

1 year ago today I was saved! Since then I’ve been far from perfect. I’ve failed, been in tough places, made mistakes, and been tested harder than ever. I do know a few things though!

1RMs are not goals itself- just because I’m using 1RMs to prescribe training, it doesn’t mean that the objective of training is solely to increase 1RMs. Thus, 1RMs serve more of a prescriptive role, rather than a descriptive role. 🔥 🔥

Adaptations to training comes from RECOVERY!
Proper periodization and planning will yield results.
Personally I enjoy 3:1 Load/Deload for off-season & undulation Deload weeks can be approached many ways.
⬇️ Volume ⬆️ Intensity Or ⬇️ both and focus on intent & speed.
Off-Season Deload 💭
In the off-season we deload by cutting volume & keeping intensity high. We will end our set with 1 rep at 90%. What this does that I love, allows us to evaluate where we are to adjust maxes for the next block!
If a player smashes his 1 rep, bump max up!
2020 has been a wild year so far! I just pray that all my athletes & co workers are doing good mentally & physically through all the chaos! And if you’re not pick up the phone and call! ✊🏼

Take it 1 day at a time. Keep your head where your feet are. Attack the day with a sense of urgency!! Control what you can control, Your attitude & effort!!

Lifting weights isn’t going to slow you down but only make you stronger, faster, and more powerful. Putting on lean mass & incorporating a program that drives speed & power on top of that will enhance all athletic qualities!! Get training!!!
Last week of spring season. Letting our guys auto regulate their load (staying between 80-85%). Clean pull + power clean for a potentiation effect.
