My CPS school is short 20 staff today due to COVID/other illness. We only have 2 subs. The solution? Distributing students across rooms that are staffed. I have 40 students in my room. I have 27 desks.

It should be illegal for schools to operate without air conditioning.

Why aren’t we blaming @CPLAthletics for forcing them to forfeit when they couldn’t get a bus instead of rescheduling the game? ALL of the south side schools have had this problem all year and their response is always “too bad”

Beginning the day @CTULocal1 announced a work action demanding @ChiPubSchools, @PedroCPSCEO, and @chicagosmayor temporarily switch to remote because of the increase of COVID in the community, data on COVID at the school level was suppressed and not shown on school dashboards. 10/

I’m loving @AbbottElemABC like every other teacher I know, but I’m also hesitant about a possible “union” episode. Teacher shows drop the ball on this: either oversimplifying or going for low-hanging fruit. You can’t love teachers but hate teacher unions. I trust @quintabrunson

Also be clear: that yes vote on the safety agreement was not 55% of members saying that what we got will keep anyone safe or is near good enough. It is 55% of members saying this mayor is nuts and we can’t give up more unpaid days to try and bargain with a narcissist.
