I am now an Assistant Coach at Biola University. Thankful to Dr. Holmquist and Biola University for the opportunity to be a part of the Men’s Basketball program. Looking to continue to make an impact in the lives of young men, the community, & for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Long clip here but love this quote from Mick Cronin “You have to put your kids in positions to be successful” Amazing how many coaches don’t realize that responsibility falls on them (Via @johnwdavis 🎥)

A word of advice for parents: steer very clear of the phrase “my child is the best” when interacting with coaches. Most are extremely experienced at talent evaluations. It rarely leads to anything positive to go that direction.

I love coaching and understand that it’s a who you know not what you know business. It just frustrates me that the “opportunities” aren’t really opportunities. “Job postings” aren’t really job postings but formalities. I wish coaches would only post jobs that are actually open 🤷🏻♂️

Just called a coach about a job posting a couple of days ago and he said the job was already filled. Really? So you had multiple people apply and interviewed in two days? I’m not naive but I know I have to persevere and wait for my opportunity. I know it’s about knowing people 1/

@HD_DirtKing As long as my children still think I’m a great father, and my wife still loves me and she’s happy, I’ll never stop coaching.

We gotta quit faulting kids for wanting to play Division I… it’s corny. Trust me, I know how talented other levels are, I coached NAIA and played D2.. But y’all are looking for “ultimate competitors” then get mad their goal is to play at the highest level.

Junior says he’ll go to whoever wants him the most no matter the level & that he enjoyed our conversation. Great character & humble. Players, don’t be prideful like the senior who doesn’t realize he’s a D2 player and this delusion of being a D1 player. #humility #character

Called 2 students, both good players. 1st student has zero offers as senior. 2nd student has multiple interest from D1’s as a junior. Senior tells me he wants D1 but will settle & use the portal next year after I invited him to a workout. Hung up & didn’t ask for workout… 🤷🏻♂️ 1/2
