To get better at running, you have to run a lot. To be a better writer, you've got to sit down and write, even when you don't want to. If you want to get better at just about anything, you've got to do the work in the domain you care about. You can't hack your way to excellence

TWO School Records on day 1 of the @MIAA033 Meet of Champions for the @Tanner_Track ladies. First it was Nicole Gangi defending her silver medal in the 400m hurdles with a blazing time of 1:01.14. Then Sinead Butler took 6th in the 2 mile, shattering the school record by 7

Awesome break from the norm to visit Holy Cross. Watching two @Tanner_Track alum run tremendous times in the steeplechase for @HCrossTFXC and having my son meet my mentor and coach is a win on any day (Marty was tired). #TannerPride #GoCrossGo

I am extremely humbled to have received this honor from the @MSTCA1. However it is far more of a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the ladies of @Tanner_Track than it is of anything I do. Proud to be their coach. #TannerPride

🚨SIMPLE IS ALL THAT YOU NEED🚨 So many people underestimate how much can be done in a session like this: 4 x 30m blocks w/ 4 min rest That’s it… that’s the session You don’t need to overcomplicate things, especially with high school sprinters

All in all, one of the most exciting, frustrating & entertaining meets I’ve ever been a part of. It was the epitome of the sport. I’m lucky & proud to coach the kids I do, have the colleagues I have -both in Woburn & out- & to be a part of something so special as #TannerPride

The mile relay team of Finn, Anderson, Power & Buback ran a time of 4:10.10 to win, but needed help if the Tanners could claim at least a share of the title. Lexington could finish no higher than 4th, but that’s what happened, sealing the tie between two excellent programs.

First was the 4x200m. After some late shuffling, the team of Jonathas, Battista, K. Butler & Clark ran a gutsy race, finishing 3rd behind Reading & Lexington with a time of 1:50.82. Next was the 4x400 - an event the Woburn girls excel at, but still needed to win to have a chance

JR Elise Corduck was our only representative in a loaded 2 mile, but finished 13th overall with her second best performance of the season in that event. Next, with the meet on the line, the Lady Tanners needed to do some work in the relays if they wanted a chance for the title.
