3 months into school, warm-up was about the midterms. Had 3 students from separate classes ask what my political affiliation was. The fact that they asked and didn’t know the answer means job well done. Classroom is a not a place to shove your politics down students throats!

For 29 years Sheriff's Sgt. Ron Helus family always worried about getting that knock at the door, that dreaded phone call. Last night was that dreaded night. Sgt. Ron Helus you died a hero and we are forever thankful for your service. RIP
This is Ventura County Sherrif’s Sgt. Ron Helus, killed as he responded to stop the mass shooting at Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks, CA. He was a 29-year vet nearing retirement, a husband, and a father.
