The City installed 50 new bus shelters across Burnaby in 2023 & plans for 50 more in 2024, making it safer & more comfortable for people taking transit. The Bus Shelter Expansion Program launched in 2023, with the goal of adding 370 new shelters by 2030.

On September 18, 1947, Burnaby’s first purpose-built fire hall was opened. Located at Willingdon & Hastings, it was considered the most modern fire hall in BC because it had modern elements like the hose-drying tower and a sump pump for pumping practice. #BCHeritageWeek

Willingdon #LinearPark is a scenic urban trail that runs 13 blocks along Willingdon Avenue, from Brentwood Town Centre to Hastings Street. It has a pathway for pedestrians and cyclists, street furniture and public art. It’s a great addition to the City of Burnaby!

Due to seismic deficiencies of Burnaby City Hall, we have no other option but to replace the building. Built in 1955, City Hall has reached the point where it has become too costly to upgrade.
