Of course, i listed wrong one of the two results. *Men* are more sensible to observability!

The second result is especially relevant given the history of mass surveillance in the GDR, highlighting how socio-political contexts can shape individual preferences and behavior. Finally, let me apologize in advance for the least readable tables you might have ever seen! 😖

As expected, observability reduces the amount of lying, but *who* is most affected by this observability? Our results show that two types of people are most affected by observability: 1) Females 2) Old citizens of the GDR

🚨🚨New Paper Alert🚨🚨 We embed a within-subject experiment with two lying paradigms in the 2020 German Socio-Economic Panel. The difference between paradigms? *Observability* 🔍 In one, we know if you lied to win more money; in the other, we do not. https://t.co/utiS56oeUY

Can you guess the average age in this picture? Yeah, most can't. Go see Muhammed if you wonder about their average age, about overprecision, or about rational inattention. All in one!
Tomorrow at #EWMES 2024 I'll be presenting a new paper with @CirilBoschRosa and Bernhard Kassner on how overconfidence affects attention allocation. Come and listen if you're in Palma and interested! WP available on request.

Great location and research group. Only downside is the city's football team, but hey, sometimes you can't have it all.
We are hiring an assistant professor in economics at CUNEF Universidad in Madrid! Join our growing and diverse department and do not hesitate to contact me should you have questions about the position or life in Madrid! https://t.co/LorJThhbqh

This paper has been very cool to design and write. While methodological papers are usually side projects, our new method can have a real impact by helping improve the quality of collected data for economic policy and research. I cannot but thank my two wonderful co-authors 🫶

@tgkmeissner @ecb @federalreserve We validate our method through a survey and find that: 1) Respondents found our method easier to use, more engaging, and better at expressing their true beliefs. 2) Our method outperforms the current method, delivering more accurate representations of inflation expectations

🚨🚨 New paper alert🚨🚨 Ever wanted to elicit full belief distributions in surveys? With @tgkmeissner and Pedro G-F we introduce a new method to do so + compare it to the current way of eliciting inflation expectations (ahem, @ecb @federalreserve) https://t.co/IFn6d3fitU

Excellent job and excellent placement! Congratulations to Muhammed and thank you for all your contributions to Berlin and its research groups 🎓📈🧐
It is done! Although I can't legally use Dr. until the official certificate, you can call me that 😂. I owe a lot to my supervisors and the @BSE_Berlin community. It is a great place to thrive as a macro-behavioral researcher. Looking forward to the next chapter @UniHeidelberg

This is one of the things I love the most of Berlin. Every two years the whole city gets sprinkled with such improvised stands to watch football. Every street has two or three. Only love for it.

Robin was a better person than scholar and he was an academic titan. This is very sad news. He will be missed.
RIP, Robin Hogarth, who passed yesterday. Robin was a giant in the field of decision research. The Behavioral Science group at Chicago Booth would not be the same without Robin and Hillel Einhorn. But I will most remember him as a wonderful and kind man.
