This is one of the big risks. Especially before a product receives sign-off for public release. I would also assume all risks (including legal) were accounted for before Gough provided a general statement which gave Kirkpatrick’s comments credibility.

I think the one of the biggest piece of news out the WSJ piece was that the USAF asked AARO to withhold embarrassing info from the public report and AARO obliged. KP cited transparency as a priority but rolled over as soon as he was asked. A failure on their end.
