Just did a really phenomenal mis-click, deleting my pinned tweet that had hundreds of very kind replies from you all and which introduced a thread of Oklahoma clips I'm proud of from my several years at KWGS and contributions to NPR. Here they are again!

1. More reporters should consider covering rural areas and more newsrooms should see the value in rural beats. Would benefit journalism + the public. 2. Feels weird that “reporters” can refer to both people who cover small city council meetings and people who have talent agents.

Will there be a journalistic brain drain in DC? A talent agent said what I've also heard anecdotally: A lot of reporters are "questioning if they have it in them to report on another Trump cycle."

Still seeing "Harris couldn't turn out millions of Biden voters," and the count in swing states says that's not true. In Wisconsin, Harris got 37k more votes than Biden. The most votes of any Dem candidate since Obama in 2008. She lost bc Trump added 77k more votes since 2020.

In which I make the case that another round of high-level handwringing about whether or not the media should be "the resistance" (Capital R optional) is not what we need right now, on semantic grounds but also economic ones: https://t.co/ECglYEyWVf

“We will engage in a peaceful transfer of power," Vice President Harris says in Washington. “While I concede this election, I do not concede the fight that fuels this campaign.” Four years later, former President (and now) Pres.-elect Trump has yet to concede his 2020 defeat.
