This morning a deputy took a call of a boy refusing to go to school. The deputy found out the reason for refusing was that he didn't have clothes to wear (literally). So the deputy went to a store and bought him clothes so he could attend school.

Pulled over a 70 year old for speeding. His first words were:
"Howdy kid! Are you behaving?"
Instantly felt like I was talking to my grandpa and that I was in trouble. Verbal warning given. 😂
As cops we deal with heavy stuff on a constant basis. Domestics. Drunks. Assaults. Suicides. Drug addiction.
So once in a while when something like this comes along it's good to step back, enjoy it, smile, and recharge to get back into the heavy stuff again.

We located juvys walking down the trail today. Weather conditions were perfect for a snowball fight. Deputies saw these boys as prime targets and a flurry of snowballs began being thrown in both directions.
Early reports indicate that the snowball squabble resulted in a tie. 🤪
The last 4 days I’ve stopped at Caribou 3 times in my marked squad car. And every time, the car in front of me has paid for my order.
I’ve always appreciated living/ working in a community that supports law enforcement. But that appreciation has significantly grown recently. KP
Evil descended upon Burnsville this morning. Good cops & a paramedic paid the highest of prices to confront that evil. We mourn the loss and grieve in pain. Our thoughts and prayers extend to our brothers and sisters as they walk through the valley of the shadow of death.
If you’re using this tweet as a spring board to rip cops and disparage our profession, we are sorry you’re that negative and cynical about life.
We will only continue to show you that we endeavor to do good and make our community a better place to live in and work in.

I went to Caribou this morning and had already made and paid for my order through their app. When I picked up my order in the drive thru the employee was laughing, because 3 people tried to pay for my order...

Hard stuff a cop hears when removing a child from an unsafe home when the mother is drunk and can't care for her:
"So I guess I won't make it to school tomorrow?"
"I was looking forward to show and tell."
"Why do cops take kids from their parents?"
That stuff sticks to you.
A fugitive from Wisconsin sped past a deputy at 91 mph and led deputies on a pursuit. A PIT maneuver was executed and the fugitive bailed on foot. K-9 Recon worked his magic and directed deputies to the fugitive. K-9 Recon has proven he can sniff out a cheesehead any day.
If you've followed our Twitter page regularly you've become familiar with Deputy Stenson and Stryker. They are a great team. Today is Stryker's birthday which means it is time for a pup cup from Dairy Queen.
Happy Birthday Stryker!

We have devastating news to report this evening.
Earlier this afternoon Chisago County resources were dispatched to a house fire in rural Nessel Township. Upon arrival, the home was found to be engulfed in flames...
It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you that we had to say our final goodbyes to K9 Ghost today, due to a medical condition. Members of our Sheriff's Office, and surrounding agencies, gathered to say goodbye to a great K9, a fantastic partner, and a good friend.
First call of the night at the county fair was a missing 4 year old who drove his tractor from home, to the fair. Reunited with Dad who promptly suspended his son's license by removing the battery from it.

Came across this in a front yard this morning. We are constantly feeling the support of the community we serve.
Food has been dropped off at our office. Meals have been paid for. People come up to us saying thanks.

An exit ramp to I35 served as a landing strip this morning for a plane that overheated. He put it down on the ramp and then taxied to Kwik Trip in Stacy.
Citation issued for quadruple parking. 😉
An anonymous donor gave our Sheriff's Office $10,000 to equip all our squad cars with AEDs. She had read an article in which one of deputies had used an AED and Captain Hoppe had said he wished all our squads had them. We are so grateful for her donation.
We never know what kind of calls we will during a shift. Yesterday Deputy Finnegan got a call on an injured eagle. Equipped with welders gloves and a blanket, the eagle was rescued. Check it out!
Male pulled over for running a stop sign.
Male: I saw no stop sign
Deputy: apparently, you didn't stop
Male: I was looking at my phone and didn't see any stop signs, so you can't give me a ticket
Deputy: I'll be right back....
Yes this happened and no, that's not how it works
Transported male home. Discovered he had previously fallen and was displaying signs of medical issues. While waiting for EMS we made the most of the time and replaced multiple low batteries in smoke detectors and light bulbs in the home that the 74 yr old can't reach by himself.
A deputy is assisting a 74 year-old resident who braved the weather to travel to a local shopping center which proved to be too hazardous to drive home.
Transport assist in progress. One example of many in which were honored to assist the citizens we serve.

I'm sure the parents won't mind. 🦌😬🤢
Last night Deputy Stenson and Stryker tracked and apprehended a suspect in a domestic assault. The suspect did not comply with commands and startedd punching an officer in the face. Stryker was deployed on the suspect which led to his arrest.
Great job by these two!

Law enforcment is filled with men and women like Matthew and Paul. Filled. These two guys would have never made headlines if they hadn’t been cut down by an evil person. Bad news makes the headlines but for every bad story there’s a thousand good stories of selfless acts by cops.
It’s taken courage to publicly back the blue for the last few years. This week showed us the best of them. And there are many more like Ruge, Elmstrand & Finseth. I hope part of their legacy is to make it OK to openly support law enforcement again. The good ones. They need it.
Hey Twitter family! I don't understand why my handler sits here all the time doing reports and paperwork.

: If you see a squad parked in the middle of the roadway with emergency lights flashing that means that the roadway is closed. A deputy had several motorists attempt to drive around the squad. We don't park in the middle of the road just for fun.

While filling up with fuel two little boys saw me/my squad car & got really excited! So they had never been in a squad before, only a firetruck so they got a tour & were able to push buttons making a lot of noise w/flashy lights & see why 🚓🚔are better than 🚒🚒 😎

Moments ago we had the honor of helping escort KIA SFC Rufus L Ketchum home to Superior, WI. Ketchum died fighting for the United States in North Korea on December 6, 1950. He was a medic and was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for Valor and the Bronze Star.
A couple of months ago I met a little dude who was so excited to see me & I gave him a patch. Today at lunch I ran into the little dude again and he was super excited to show me his favorite video of KP doing a lip-sync challenge and his coat that he had the patch sewn on to! -SF
You know what we see here? We see a big truck with metal plates on it that has the ability to suck up bullets and protect our cops.
It’s an incredibly defensive tool. It’s a deescalating chess piece. It gives us more options for peaceful outcomes.
Christmas Eve I responded to a welfare check & found the property owner sadly deceased. He left behind a 🐶 & a Conure in the home. I opened my home/care for the 🐦 until a rescue service took over today, which will care for it until probate clears. The dog is also in good 👐 -SF
Cops deal with tragedy on a regular basis. It's written in the job description. We know that. We couldn't do our job if we weren't able to deal with it.
But some calls stick with you the rest of your life, and tragic calls involving kids are among those.
Literally just received a call of two suspicious white cars parked in a parking lot, possibly doing a drug deal.... uh that would be two fully marked squads. One can only suspect the caller is the one doing drugs 🙃

A few years ago we posted a video of Colton dancing with his dad who had stopped home for a dinner break on patrol. Now, Colton is 5 years old and got to pin a sergeant's badge on his dad who was recently promoted. How time flies for us as parents!
2yrs ago I met a teen at a call struggling in life. I spent time listening & vowed to be a ➕ influence for them. Tonight I was honored to attend their 🎓 party where they graduated early with honors! Community policing is just part of the job that I love. -SF

Deputy Finnegan used his breaching tools in a new way last week...to rescue a kitten stuck in a storm drain. We're happy to report that the rescue was successful and "Stormy" is now with a foster caretaker, doing well and enjoying life.
If a cop pulls into the gas station lot while you are fueling and you do the following, yes you have caught my attention...
*See squad and make awkward eye contact
*Wash ENTIRE car with windshield cleaner
*Check oil
*Check tires

referred to us as the ChiCago County Sheriffs Office this morning on the radio. It's Chisago.
An investigation into the matter has been started. Ghost and Stryker are lead on the investigation.
PRO TIP: if you get stopped by the police for revoked DL and the police tell you to call for a valid driver, don't call your friend who doesn't have a license, is driving drunk and wearing a shirt "I make beer disappear, what's your superpower". Our superpower is arresting DWI's

A deputy just had a deer fly OVER the hood of his car. He heard the back feet hit the back part of his roof.
He stopped to check his squad for damage, and a lady came up to him and said she saw the deer fly over his car!

I think "3/4 ton" truck is the correct term we're looking for. Don't worry, we're laughing with you....😂

DASH CAM of Sgt. Edmonds dealing with a report of a suspicious female in the road. She had a box cutter in her hand during this and cut Sgt. Edmonds gloves during the fight. She was arrested on multiple charges and ultimately convicted of damage to property.
I was approached by a woman at the gas pumps and she said I had two choices.

2. I go inside and buy ice cream for her.

This year I’m very thankful for life and healing. For celebrating fully with my family. -KP
