Mayadunne Corea (Jnr), a Senior Deputy Solicitor General (SDSG) at the AG's department - the elder son of late Mayadunne Corea (Snr) who was also a judicial officer (District Judge) is among those named by the President to be appointed as Appeal Court judges.
Prez @GotabayaR proposes 10 High Court judges, 2 officers of the AG Dept & 2 lawyers from the Private Bar as new judges of the Court of Appeal. The Parliamentary Council can make their observations but has no powers to overrule President's nominations. #SriLanka #Judiciary
