Posting this yesterday before the horrific carnage in Highland Park Illinois- a more perfect union demands reasoned regulation on firearms.

Take a hard look at the juxtaposition of this photo. The moment stolen by a monster who leaves pain in his wake. The remnants of fun abandoned at the sound of gunfire. 6 dead. 2 dozen more shot. This police officer wears the pain we all feel. Don’t look away.

We are strong enough to simultaneously celebrate our independence today and continue to question & work hard to perfect our union.
