On July 30, Lakeside Community Based Outpatient Clinic's staff celebrated Llody Altschul's 103rd birthday. Altschul served in the U.S. Army during World War II from Dec. 14, 1942 to May 30, 1946 as an infantryman.

Jesse Brown Veterans Affairs Medical Center honored 15 Veterans July 26 during an End of World War II event. World War II officially ended Sept. 2, 1945 with the unconditional surrender of Germany in the Pacific. JBVAMC also honored three centenarians with a certificate.
