In 2016, a “famous doctor” in Nairobi invited my sister and I for a job interview. His plan? Pick us up at 6:00am – Kenyatta hosp (My sis) 6:30am – Jogoo Rd (me) At the last minute my brother told us to change one small thing. To this day we think that saved our lives 🧵

@Chevant7 @digitalmkenya I did go, but he didn’t promise to pick me up, told me to meet him in town, got to town and said I can’t come, my son will, the said son looked about 50 years old, he walked me around town for about an hour, asking for my phone to call “dad”.

@Chevant7 I'm fresh out of school, I've never been to Karen and I have zero idea where exactly we even are. Fortunately, it turns out to be a completely professional interview in the guy's home office. And a month later I have confirmation that I landed the job.

@Chevant7 You read the Epstein files and think human trafficking and sra are foreign things only to realize it's happening right where you are. Thank God you and your sis escaped the trap.

Hell to the no...we were all sharing updates because it became fishy when HE started calling us way more than we were. Yet we were the job seekers
@Chevant7 So without your bro's advice you would have hopped into a stranger's car? Mimi ata taxis tu I hardly use usiku. I don't trust anyone.

Turns out whoever it was, was using the good doctor's name. The real doc was my bro's client, but he confirmed that he had no new clinic and neither was he hiring! We were left with several questions to date!

I’m so glad as a generation we all agreed to stop ironing our clothes

I’m standing on Amos 9:13–15 and believing God for SUDDENLY in every area of my life. The Word says blessings will happen so fast your head will swim, one right after the other. That’s not just a cute scripture; it’s a prophetic promise for this season. I decree and declare that

If someone insists on picking you up for a job interview or rushes the process, please be very careful. Nairobi ni shamba la mawe. One minute you're alive, next you're on the News. Have you ever had a “job opportunity” that later felt suspicious?

Sometimes my sister and I still talk about that morning. If we had gotten into that car at 6am… Two young women. One stranger. Driving out of Nairobi. We honestly don’t know what could have happened.
