Huge thanks to @CAgovernor for funding workforce development in school food. These funds will support our Healthy School Food Pathway programs. 👏
We're putting out $25M in grants to train 22,000+ California workers in the skilled trades like construction. That's on top of the $30M announced last week for apprenticeships in health care, education, and tech. You shouldn't need a college degree to land a high-paying job.

This week, I visited Hamilton Elementary to help serve lunch to some wonderful 2nd and 3rd graders. Free school meals mean parents save time and money, and kids can focus on learning. Michigan families count on free school meals. We need a budget that makes them a priority.
