@levelsio Get yourself some robot arms! Spent a lot of time learning basic robotics with rovers and car bots but robot arms were much more relevant for tasks like drawing, holding cups, pointing, sorting, etc

We need a new metric, like "business requests per second." ie, real-world usage against live customers using a product in the field. Not synthetic benchmarks or trivial operations designed to run up numbers.
Basecamp did 5,250 req/sec at peak yesterday. Mean response time was 90ms. So call that needing 500 cores at max load. If you skipped redundancy, you could probably do that with 3 boxes each running a Z5 192-core AMD chip with room to spare. Servers have gotten crazy fast!

The panic is overblown. Chromecast is one of the useful protocols ever, and it's built into ~billions of devices. The stand-alone dongle has been long gone, and the evolution into its own streaming stick/STB with a remote is far better than the clumsy built-in smart TV UIs.
