We cannot afford to let these children fall through the cracks. Early intervention has to mean early – we can’t wait until these children are teenagers. We are calling on the @educationgovuk to tackle this growing rate of exclusions by urgently investing in early intervention.

🚨This rapidly rising rate of primary school exclusions should be raising alarm bells. The support and funding that the most vulnerable children require to thrive in a school setting needs to be a priority for this Government.

Exclusions are rising at a faster rate in primary schools compared to secondary schools, if we don't act now to support children at the earliest point of need, this problem will continue to worsen.

Our director said: "When you have children as young as five and six years old being permanently excluded from school then something is going very wrong. Every day, we see children and families being let down by a system that is failing to support them early enough"

The worrying data revealed that we have seen a 30% rise in exclusions/suspensions for the youngest children in our classrooms, now at over 35,000 for children aged 6 years and under. #TooYoungToLeaveBehind
