It's clear who Reform UK stand for - and it's not workers. They seek to sow division, while committing to throw our hard-won rights on the scrapheap. https://t.co/AOqF74TYHD

📢 The minimum age to become a train driver is coming down. The government has listened to ASLEF: people aged 18+ will be able to apply to train as a driver. This will give young people improved access to a skilled, unionised career and help safeguard our industry's future.

Last week we launched our Rail Freight Future Campaign at a round table with MPs in Westminster. Rail freight has a vital role in Britain's future supporting economic growth and tackling climate change but its future is uncertain. https://t.co/wstVJ9MQw7 #railfreightfuture 🧵

The Employment Rights Bill, which is being debated by the House of Commons this week, will bring the biggest uplift to workers' rights in a generation. ASLEF is proud to have been part of developing the New Deal for Working People from its inception.

Following yesterday's Parliamentary debate about Open Access Rail, we've explained why it's not the future - ASLEF continues to support an end to fragmentation, and a publicly owned railway that works for everyone

🔮Just reading all the Tory amendments to the Employment Rights Bill, and feeling all Mystic Meg for setting up a 'Hands off our Rights!' Open Letter. 🔮 How could we possibly have known this would be their agenda? ✏️𝗔𝗗𝗗 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗡𝗔𝗠𝗘 𝗡𝗢𝗪! https://t.co/PUtqWrAdcG

Brilliant job by @LouHaigh driving the Public Ownership Bill onto the Statute Book. Taking our railways back into public hands, so they are run in the interests of passengers and communities. A Labour Government in action. 🎉🎈🥳🪩 🚂🚄🚃🚅🚉

Today the Public Ownership Bill received Royal Assent 👑. This is a major step towards Britain's railways operating in the interest of the public. We now look ahead to the creation of Great British Railways to truly bring the wheels and steel back together.

Great to join @ASLEFunion & hear about their member survey I am incredibly concerned about the wellbeing implications of train drivers not having access to safe, clean, dignified toilet facilities as well as the time to use them during their working day #DignityForDrivers

Delighted to host @ASLEFunion in Parliament today for the launch of their ‘Dignity for Drivers’ report. Ensuring everyone has access to proper toilet facilities is key to safety and dignity at work. You can read more on the report here 👉 https://t.co/maao9MtiPx

We know that the railway workforce is key to the efficient operation of services, so we're glad that @LouHaigh sat down with us to resolve our dispute as soon as she took office, and continues to move fast and fix things. Thanks to @rach_hopkins for raising this important issue.

We agree with @tonyvaughanMP in his question to Parliament this morning - investing in infrastructure and moving more freight on rail are really important for growing businesses and growing local economies. Let's make use of all the available capacity. #InvestInRail

We are strengthening rights and protections for working people to make work pay. Good employers know that treating people with dignity and respect helps improve productivity and their business’s reputation. That’s the mandate we were given and we’re getting on with the job.

When it comes to supporting working people, you know whose side the Tories are on. Statutory Mat Pay is £184 a week. Equivalent to £4.60 an hour for a 40 hr week #notexcessive Delighted Labour's New Deal means this Government will be urgently reviewing *all* parental leave.

Yesterday the House of Commons voted through the rail public ownership bill, led by Transport Secretary @LouHaigh. An important step in the journey towards a railway that runs in the interest of people and communities across the country. Next stop, House of Lords 🚄

🚨NEW 🚨 We have received a pay offer from the Department for Transport in respect of our national dispute. It is a three-year pay deal (at 5%, 4.75% and 4.5%) with no strings. This will now be put to a member referendum.
