Not sure who needs to hear this, but the leopards/faces thing is about suffering the negative consequences you knowingly expected other people to suffer. It is not about suffering unexpected harm after extending goodwill, trust or kindness. We have 'The Snake' for that.

Amazed at how often people try to use the leopard meme and completely misunderstand it. It's about enabling harsh or draconian things to happen to 'other people' and realising you've brought them on yourself, because your division into 'me' and 'them' is fatuous to the oppressor.
