CALeg will have 5 days to take public comment and finalize proposed Congressional maps for a Nov. 4 special election on redistricting. Gov. Newsom & Speaker Rivas told me this process is transparent because voters will have months to look at them and decide.

How much could a special election on redistricting in California cost this year? Gov. Newsom said he's analyzing that. The last special election was his recall in 2021, and the state ended up spending a little more than $200 million.
