The ivy is in flower now. As the other flowers fade away providing food for many. Insects pollinate it thus producing berries for birds, mice and bank voles. The mice & voles are food for owls, foxes & other creatures. That’s how biodiversity works. Please don’t tidy up your ivy

Folklore tells us that each spring,Sea Mither battles Tehran, the bringer of storms, forcing him to the depth of the ocean. As autumn approaches Sea Mither grows tired and Tehran fights again for control of the sea. Today was filled with evidence of these battles #Shetland

The boxes come from California so we looked for spiders from that area and it is likely a grass spider. So we got some extra biology with our science kit @MarkRober Although I have reminded Rohan if he ever finds unidentified arachnids in a box to tell someone not release them!
