Oh my goodness. This lady is so articulate, thoughtful, honest, and absolutely spot on about early television.
#OnThisDay 1977: Thanks for the Memory - The Viewer's View asked people what they thought about television. This woman was likely approached for a snappy vox pop, but ended up delivering something closer to a dramatic monologue.

Ah yes. Learning songs, poetry, music, prose, dance steps by heart is truly liberating. And I still know my times tables, because we all learnt them by heart when I was a child!.
'What you have by heart, the bastards cannot touch, they cannot take it from you . What you don't know by heart, you really haven't loved deeply enough.'. George Steiner on the importance of learning by heart. I've seen this countless times, and it never ceases to move me.

Pankhurst studied at the Manchester School of Art ,later won a scholarship to the RCA in London in 1904โa significant achievement for a woman at the time. Her work was exhibited at the Royal Academy, and she won several awards, including the Queenโs Prize for Art.
UK suffragette Sylvia Pankhurst was a trained artist and in 1907 created several watercolours depicting women workers in factories, mills and potteries to highlight working womenโs rights, their pay and conditions #WomensArt
