#OnThisDay in 1817, Jane Austen was buried inside Winchester Cathedral, six days after she died. Her funeral was attended by three of her brothers, and one of her nephews. Visitors still travel worldwide to pay their respects at Jane Austen's grave inside the cathedral.

In loving memory of our dear Cathedral Chaplain, Canon Gary Philbrick, who died a year ago today. In the Guardian Angels chapel today you'll find a framed photo of Canon Gary alongside a candle. All are welcome to visit the chapel for prayer and reflection as we remember him.
