Congratulations to all the nominees and award winners last night at the BBC Sports Personality of the year! Incredible year for sport, and Para/Olympic success. Very disappointed to see we didn’t even get a mention for team of the year. The only same 4 boys to ever win and defend

The Serpentine is lookin' FINE! 🀩 The water temperature is 15.9 degrees so the first dip may feel fresh for those who have been used to training over the summer. Wetsuits are optional but do bring plenty of layers with you for before and after your swim. πŸŠβ€β™€οΈ

If one of your NY resolutions is to swim more, remember to increase your training volume gradually, spend time working (slowly) on your technique, allow time for rest and recovery and support your swimming with strength and mobility exercises. And have fun & enjoy the journey.

Most common question I am asked everyday from #coaches. "How do I get this generation of young #athletes to work hard". My response. You don't! What I mean is you don't "get" them - i.e. make them / force them / order them / etc to work hard. We are way past the era of

@waynegoldcoach Good post πŸ‘πŸ» I did 20+yrs on deck and went with the approach that I created an environment where swimmers wanted to turn up, I cared about them (the person & the swimmer), they understood the process and were focused on achieving their goals, and we had a lot of fun (most days!)
