Stella Creasey appears utterly gobsmacked that someone would even suggest parents should take some responsibility for their child's truancy.
Perhaps she'd prefer the state raised your children for you?
Albie Amankona(GBnews) - "You've also got to give the parents a kick in the posterior to say you need to get your children to school"
Stella Creasey - That might sound great on GBnews....
@CarverEmily
This is all a bit confusing Emilia.
You either leave people alone to do whatever the hell they like (your small state idea).
Or you have the state intervene.
Your argument seems to be that the state should raise the parents, not the kids. Itโs still nannying.
@CarverEmily
To be honest, when teachers are teaching kids their sexual preferences and political views most people have given up on state schooling. Creasy is part of that problem in the first place but many of us think state schools are abysmal now.
@CarverEmily
Her use of "rhetoric" and "GB News" as if that's enough to dismiss the views of the other panellist. 'Sneering' is the word that springs to mind.
@CarverEmily
The disdain they have for media that actually questions them is amazing. They hate BGNews & Talk TV.
It really highlights the fact that BBC/ITV/C4/Sky have long been their de facto campaign managers.

@CarverEmily
Exactly. If you want to be a parent, then be a parent! Take responsibility and bring your kids up properly, with respect and manners. Teachers are there to teach, not to bring up other families children!
@CarverEmily
Stella Creasey canโt lecture anyone on what it means to be good parent - not that she knows, taking her โpropโ baby into late night sittings of parliament.

I think Emily the people of this country are I for one hell of a shock with a Labour government ! Yes this lot are poor and Sunak being replaced would change things dramatically but Labour would destroy the social fabric of the UK forever and finish what Blair started god help us
@CarverEmily
I cannot imagine anyone taking notice of her parenting advice.
Her purely political points about 2 or 3 jobs etc means that she had no intention of debating this properly.
She wasnโt aware that the HoC had a crรจche apparently.
@CarverEmily
'Child truants or becomes excluded not only will they get worse grades at school,earn less,but they are also up to twice as likely to commit crime & will probably have poorer health' Shoplifting is often involving truants.
@CarverEmily
A quiet tenner at Ladbrokes, that her own children will be privately educated, might be shrewd punt. Her type always treat their own kids differently to โthe kidsโ they profess to โcareโ so much about.
@CarverEmily
He is correct,parents have a responsibility to get their children to school,he talks about school being a partnership,thats no longer the case,school dictates to much & doesnโt always know what is correct for your child,they often are to busy punishing kids rather than listening
