There needs to be a northwest corridor. A lot of Donegal people travel to Galway for medical care. The drive is 4.5hr and challenging in parts. A rail link would make a lot of sense.

@ElaineByrne @businessposthq If you want a comparison, annually the Government spends about €40-€45 million training doctors, €62 million training racehorses and €18 million training greyhounds. They ultimately all spend a lot of time running around in circles but the Docs also save some lives.

This impacts those of us and our colleagues who provide onerous rotas in subspecialities or in rural/level 3 hospitals where staffing level@is much tighter compared to some model 4hospitals. Same salaries for much different work hours.

@LiangRhea @AmCollSurgeons A Giant amongst surgeons. Fascinating gentleman. Had a truly phenomenal chat with him in ‘09 when I visited MSKCC canvassing for a fellowship - 15 minute slot turned into 90 mins. Amazing person.
