Today I experienced juggling working from home and caring for 2 small children. It’s challenging! They were left to their own devices lots which is fine. They had fun! It’s okay not to be ‘on it’ all the time. Don’t get overwhelmed. Take time to adjust. Mrs Gillian x

An extension update! The scaffolding is down. I am sure you'll agree it is really taking shape now. We are getting very excited. The lights are on and the canopy is up. Next Stuart and his team are going to build the walkway around the building.

On Thursday the children enjoyed a visit from Zoo Tots! They were excited to see lots of animals, some of our friendly visitors included a snake, tortoise, rabbit, guinea pig, bearded dragon, chicken and duck along with lots more. Thank you Zoo Tots, we had a great time!

Mrs Nelson left a bag of flour on the play dough table, in Arran playroom, this morning. The children emptied, poured, stirred, filled...transferred to the floor, mixed with water and then used it as a medium for mark making! 👍

The children had some special guest visitors this week in nursery. We had lots of questions about how to look after a baby, phew - It sounds like a lot of hard work!

Inspired by reading a non-fiction book one of our children wanted to create a magnetic fishing game. This led to an afternoon of problem solving, resilience, creativity and fun! We now have a new game in our ELCC and it's a hit!

Water play was explored by lots of children this morning. Lots of descriptive vocabulary, splash, squirt, pour, full and empty. They were fascinated by our new tubes and enjoyed filling them using different equipment.

This morning we found ice when risk assessing our outdoor space. We brought some inside and investigated different ways to melt it. We then went to the nature lab where there was snow. We had fun sculpting it, making snow angels and rolling down the grassy hill!

Our nursery children were treated to a surprise visit from some of our P5 children this morning. They have created puppets to raise money for Cancer Research and they wanted to donate their left over stock to our nursery children. This was such a thoughtful gesture! Thank you!

One of our learners was so keen to fix her broken dress she brought it in to have a go herself using our sewing machine. Using her prior knowledge and experience she mended the rip. Well done!
