Ending preventable #maternal mortality & #fistula remains an urgent unfinished agenda for the poorest women & girls in Bangladesh. We must ensure every pregnant woman has a midwife at her side & access to emergency care to end this tragedy
Today, UNFPA Rep. Catherine @BreenKamkong visited the Nat’l Fistula Centre at Dhaka Medical College & Hospital & Dhaka Nursing & Midwifery College under @MoHFWBD. With @CIPRB_BD & @OGSB_official, we strengthen care for fistula survivors and train future midwives.

Research shows that midwifery care can prevent 60% of maternal & newborn deaths. Midwives also help prevent obstetric fistula. That's why we support @WHO’s call to expand midwifery care—because it's every woman’s right to give birth safely. 🔗 https://t.co/GaMFtG7luV
