Congrats to my friend Sola Mahfouz on her memoir, "Defiant Dreams," from @penguinusa. Sola grew up in Afghanistan and couldn't go to school, but learned English on her own and then studied math on the Internet through @khanacademy--and now is doing quantum research in the US.
