All this heterodox vs mainstream warfare and most of them - including heterodox - still have failed to recognize that as a point of simple, basic, elementary school logic, the funds to pay taxes and buy govt securities necessarily come from govt spending (or lending).

“Monetary policy works on a lag” and if it’s not working it just needs more lag, but if prices fall immediately before/following a rate hike there isn’t a lag and the Fed did that.

Doesn’t matter how many times it’s explained, the theory, context, the date of K’s statement, what happened after, that “monetary policy works on a lag,” etc they got their chart that validates their Fed-God, and they are going to run their mouth like jabronis.
The MMTers have somehow convinced themselves that when the Fed raised rates (green line), it made consumer price inflation higher (blue line). Maybe it's my gold-bug bias, but that's not how I read the chart.

It’s in the NK models. It’s in the fiscal dominance literature. It’s not even an MMT thing. At a high enough debt to gdp rate hikes have perverse outcomes.
