We are deeply upset to hear about the passing of @sirfrasersays who was not just a pioneer of supramolecular chemistry though his groups work on catenanes and rotaxanes but also a mentor and role model to all of us

Very sad news of the passing of @sirfrasersays, a giant of chemistry for four decades. He pioneered (with J-P Sauvage) the chemistry of the mechanical bond (catenanes & rotaxanes) & recognised that their well defined motions could be useful for molecular machinery... 1/3
