found this Kenneth Rexroth gem in a used bookstore and am loving his keen, neoclassical yet minimalist (“make it new”) lines, cool as trodden marble and sinewy as an incense stick

Tonight, Friday, Oct. 10, at 6-9pm in Brooklyn, I debut 22 new cyanotype assemblages in a solo show, “You Oughta Be in Pictures,” at “B” Dry Goods, 679 Franklin Ave. (Shown here: Marlene Dietrich’s Seconals.)

I was so enthralled by "Babysitter" that I read it twice--first, in hardcover, and then, a few months later, I listened to the whole novel as an audiobook. So now that book is etched into my consciousness; I enjoy living with its haunting residue.

Two of my favorite Joyce Carol Oates novels happen to be (among) her most recent: "Babysitter" and "Fox": intricately constructed thrillers, panoptic social tapestries, perverse psychological studies--people losing volition, tumbling into the vortex.

Today I finished a new micro-movie, “Four Journeys”: rudimentary animation, piano improvisation, and narration: 44 seconds long. Watch it here:

this Sunday morning, I played Miriam Gideon’s “Piano Suite No. 3” (pictured below) and Ben Weber’s “Humoreske”: approachable, earnest atonality, with urbane edges. #pianodiary

today, I played on the piano small manageable works by Couperin, Haydn, Frank Bridge—and received minor doses of jagged enlightenment

I made a 48-second-long collage-movie today. It features a poem by Heinrich Heine, and images from Giulio Berruti’s “Suor Omicidi,” with Anita Ekberg. https://t.co/qDhWBbPfQI

Having already killed or wounded 200,000 Palestinians, the extremist Israeli government is using mass starvation to engineer the ethnic cleansing of Gaza. Despite these crimes, the US has provided $22 billion to Israeli military operations since the war began. Enough is enough.

79 people shot in Gaza over the weekend: There is no excuse for starving people and then opening fire on civilians desperately lining up for food. None. Congress must not give Netanyahu another penny of unconditional military aid.

Today, Supreme Court Justices Sotomayor, Jackson, and Kagan bravely stood up and tried to defend the Constitution from Donald Trump. History will remember the justices who undermined our judicial system. RETWEET to thank these justices for standing up for the Constitution!

You don’t get a @ZohranKMamdani victory without the extraordinary grassroots movement that rallied around him. And you don’t get that movement without an economic agenda that speaks to the needs of working people. My op-ed on Zohran's victory:

The NYTimes’ editorial board insisted that the guy who just won the first round by 8 points should not be ranked at all. Maybe they ought to consider why, in age of rising fascism, they consistently operate so far to the right of the electorate? Reactionary tools.

Jeff Bezos is worth $230 billion and is reportedly spending $20 million on a three-day wedding in Venice while sailing around on his $500 million yacht. If he can afford to do that, he can afford a wealth tax and to pay Amazon workers a living wage. Hello?
