I heard this verbatim the other day “just because your bodily autonomy and motor cortex and fascia systems have ways they want to do things, doesn’t make it the most efficient”.

So much of what players train on and with doesn’t show up because their body and brain know they can’t do that and perform at a high level against high competition. And the hitting world is shallow enough to think it’s about the swing itself.

What we can agree on is that systems are different and have preferences on how they move and create barrels. It’s really important to find what your physical preferences are - aka what puts you in the most relaxed state of mind so what you practice can show up.

Whatever you prefer or think is right, you’re right and wrong at the same time . People are so hell bent on arguing and dick measuring that they make being most right the goal.

You can go deep with it - fascia, CNS impediments, rib placement, diaphragm actions, alpha/beta wave interactions, brain energy leaks, flat feet, injury and on forever . You can keep it simple - twitchy, quick mover, slow mover, swing down, whatever else.
