Recent satellite imagery from the Milwaukee-Racine, WI metro area show just how dramatic the gradient was from the recent snowfall event. Racine got ~8 inches - some neighborhoods literally just across the road... not so much!

This has to be one of the most incredible and terrifying satellite loops that I've seen in a while. You can see 5 violent mesovorts spinning around the eye of #Melissa this morning.

Category 5 Hurricane Melissa has officially made landfall on Jamaica as the strongest landfalling hurricane in Atlantic history, with sustained winds of 185 mph and gusts up to 225 mph. A tragic moment for Jamaica.
