@FT “It underlines the restless disenchantment with status-quo politics, driven by a sense that living standards are sliding and “nothing works”. The Great British public is tired of being mugged-off paying over-the-top prices for rubbish services delivered by private equity…

Yeah Ok. Remind us Zarah how many world beating products and services Cuba, Venezuela and North Korea have created? Even previously hardline Communist states like China and Vietnam realised you don’t get any innovation with state ownership and flung the doors open to capitalism.

Member owned organisations like building societies, insurance companies and healthcare providers are successful examples. They work for the benefit of their members. On the other hand I wouldn’t trust the UK Civil Service or politicians to run an effing bath properly!
Some of this will be nationalisation, some cooperativism, some social enterprise and other generative ownership forms. It would behoove the left to talk more precisely about all this, and also not to throw lazy cliches about North Korea around. We can and must do better.

They foamed at the mouth when Boris held a slice of cake. Called for Boris and Rishi to resign over an FPN. Preached about morals. Lied about raising taxes. Possibly manipulated the financial markets by lying about a £30bn black hole. Signed it off. Hypocritical shysters.

1. Churchill wanted French warships yes. 2. Churchill wanted to stop the fourth largest navy in the world falling in German hand yes. 3. Churchill gave them the chance to surrender or blow-up their ships before opening fire yes. 4. Ireland blacklisted men who fought Nazis yes.
The single biggest loss of life for the French Navy in WW2 wasn't inflicted by the Germans or Japanese. It was inflicted by the British by direct order of Winston Churchill. On the 3 July 1940 the British Royal Navy carried out "Operation Catapult" the deliberate, cold

It’s perfectly well known event. Vichy France signed a peace treaty with Germany on 22nd June 1940. The ships were controlled by a Vichy France that was actively collaborating with the Nazis. A letter from an Admiral who can be replaced at anytime is worthless.

Do you know how many thousands of innocent people were murdered during “The Terror” of first French Revolutionary Republic created in 1789? 😳 By the way you history ignoramus the French have had two monarchies, three Empires and 5 Republics since then?!?
Magnificent Versailles(10m visitors) is a much bigger attraction than Windsor Castle(1.5m) or Buckingham Palace(0.5m), proving you don’t need a royal family to attract tourists. And the extensive grounds are free. France showed the way forward for Britain.

Oh good God, Imran Sherwani has died at 63. It might not resonate with younger viewers, but for some of us Imran provided a sporting memory for the ages at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. 'Where were the Germans? But frankly, who cares!' RIP Imran

Being on a watch in a fire station you’re literally putting your life in the hands of the person next to you. It’s not working the till at Tesco. If she hadn’t got the wit or where with all to put your colleagues down verbally if they’re testing you get another job.
Seriously, every woman in the country should be outraged by this woke bollocks! Who cares? I AM NOT OFFENDED! And even if I was, that’s MY problem not his! We must stop this.

David neglects to mention the Muslim Moors massacred and committed genocide against the Christians living in the Iberian Peninsula before they invaded in the 8th century…
Before the genocide against Muslims in Spain, 80% of the population was Muslim. Now, the Muslim population in Spain is less than 5%. Spain, which was once a Muslim-majority state, has now become a Christian-majority state because of the genocide carried out against Muslims.

When your mate posts a meme and walks out of court smiling because the jury saw through the state’s bullshit, that’s a problem for tyrants. So they remove the jury, replace 12 of your peers with one state approved beak who owes his career to the regime, this is how you go from
🚨KEIR STARMER TO SCRAP JURY TRIALS You will now be judged purely by someone appointed by the state This is what authoritarian regimes do To only have juries for rape and murder trials mean that the state can lock up whoever they like for speech offences etc. THIS IS TYRANNY

Labour, purportedly the party of the worker, has destroyed the means for small and medium sized businesses to remain independent. The sale of companies to employee owned trusts was a way for business owners to keep the business from falling into PE or larger rivals and instead be

This is utterly damning.
Here’s a list of world leaders (Lenin, Mussolini, Hitler, Franco, Mao, Castro, Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Saddam Hussein, Gaddafi, Khomeini, Maduro, Assad etc) who abolished jury trials and the dates they. It now includes British Labour Prime Minister Keir Starmer in 2025.

Britain crosses these lines brazenly now. No debate. No shame. A government decree, a police order, and suddenly the people who feed the country – the most rooted, law-abiding citizens we have – are the ones being marched away in handcuffs. Not for rioting. Not for violence. For
