Yeah Ok. Remind us Zarah how many world beating products and services Cuba, Venezuela and North Korea have created? Even previously hardline Communist states like China and Vietnam realised you don’t get any innovation with state ownership and flung the doors open to capitalism.

Member owned organisations like building societies, insurance companies and healthcare providers are successful examples. They work for the benefit of their members. On the other hand I wouldn’t trust the UK Civil Service or politicians to run an effing bath properly!
Some of this will be nationalisation, some cooperativism, some social enterprise and other generative ownership forms. It would behoove the left to talk more precisely about all this, and also not to throw lazy cliches about North Korea around. We can and must do better.
