Beautiful to be at the Olympic Stadium in Paris. Forty years on from watching the Los Angeles Games at home in childlike wonder. Twenty years on from being in Athens to watch Kelly Holmes in that golden summer. I’m now much older, only a bit wiser and still besotted with sport.

United are playing Chelsea after this. You wouldn’t be remotely surprised to see the Blues win that game. Then United go to Brentford, which hardly looks an appetising match. Ruben Amorim and his team could be in a really bad place come the end of September.

This Liverpool remind me so much of Fergie's Manchester United. They chase and chase and chase. Right until the last whistle. It's pure belief. Four games for Liverpool and four games won right at the end. Arne Slot's team win 1-0 at Burnley. It's what champions do.
