Seven years after his conviction, nearly one year after the pardon, the case Army Lt. Clint Lorance — and the president’s decision to pardon him — continue to divide people sharply.

In 2017 I wrote a story for @CalSunday about Los Jornaleros del Norte @NDLON, which we then brought to life on stage for @PopUpMag. I am thrilled it will take on a new life on 9/23 in a short film featuring the band + their story delivered by @LaMarisoul

I share this story b/c 1) it's well written & fascinating but 2) it's a reminder that, for all the headlines about Trump attacking our elections & possible vote-by-mail issues, there are 100,000s of people working day and night to protect the election and ensure your vote counts.
