Sgt Bill Speakman VC. Earned his VC whilst serving in the KOSB (My old Regiment for 25yrs). 4 Nov 1951 in the Korean War he fought like a lion to beat off the enemy and won like a hero. I had the privilege in looking after Bill last year at a lunch in the VSC London. A pleasure.

Managed to get a hold of a short clip of RM Cdt Weir from Shrewsbury School CCF receiving his presentation from OC CTT. He turned up a day early...never done him any harm at all as he finished the Wk1 CLC as top Student of Assaye Platoon. Well done young man. 🇬🇧💂♂️💪🏻👍🏼

Sgt Jim Shoebridge(red cap) is on his penultimate day of his Drill Course at Catterick. Apparently he smashed his Drill TPs and can now be set loose on Cdts and CFAVs as a competent and current All Arms Drill Instructor. Well done Jim. 🇬🇧💂🏻♀️💪🏼👍

A sad day but we move on. The Royal Regiment of Scotland have lost our 1st Bn (The Royal Scots Borderers) into history but, their Black Hackle becomes the Regimental Hackle for all serving SCOTS currently not serving in a Regular Bn. I've changed my White to Black Hackle. 🇬🇧💂♂️👍

Today I presented our AO Donna with her Civil Service Long Service Certificate for over 20yrs continues loyal & dedicated service to the Civil Service. She has been in since May 1993 to present day(29yrs). Donna is an absolute stalwart who goes above & beyond for the CTT. 🇬🇧💂♂️👏

I said a sad farewell to one of my TSAs on his retirement having completed 43yrs service. 16yrs as a TSA, WO2 Ian Hay started the job back in 2004 when there was two TSAs to cover Scotland. Times have changed & moved on since then for the right reasons. Good luck 👏

I visited the RCO Refresher Trg today held at Dreghorn Bks Barrack Range. Excellent turnout 39 CFAVs from as far as Perthshire to the Scottish Borders. I also had a TSA up in Stornoway delivering trg to a team of CFAVs. Well done team. 🇬🇧💂♂️🏴👍

The Navy Cdts were not shy at coming fwd today as three of them danced to the pipes. One (middle) even had the courage to discard a loose dance shoe and crack on. Well done the girls from the Navy Sec who stepped up to the plate.

I joined Jnr Sldrs on 6 Jan 81 at age 15yrs 11mths and 6 days. I was the 2nd youngest in the intake. Mum didn't want to sign the papers but dad did so, it happened and here I am. As of today 6 Jan 19 I start my 39th year in the Best Army in the World & I would do it all again.🇬🇧
