Ortona has a very loving retirement home with lots of new friends & has settled in nicely. We wish PSH Ortona a wonderful retirement & thank him for his incredible service.

He was especially talented at helping to train new officers joining the Mounted Unit to learn their equitation & Mounted Patrol skills.

Ortona loved his job as a Police Service Horse & took great pride in accomplishing every task asked of him.

PSH Ortona is a 19-year-old Percheron Thoroughbred, standing at 16.2 hands high! He was named after the 'Battle of Ortona' & exudes quality in his stature & make up. He has a forward & brave disposition - always happy to lead his troop.

We'd like to formally introduce Jake! A retired @CalgaryPolice Service dog, Jake is a Belgian Malinois who moved to Canada from Slovakia. He was an asset to our Canine Unit, and now hangs around our barn! Jake is fun to have around, and also great for desensitizing our herd! 🥎🐕
