I don't think I've ever read anything that's made me angrier. Greenlandic families having babies taken away at birth after "parenting tests." Why was she being tested? "To see if you are civilised enough, if you can act like a human being." https://t.co/jakPlKIivp

About a quarter of “healthy” young adults think they have ADHD (28%), according to new research. But that number jumped to more than half (58%) after they received an ADHD awareness campaign based on popular ADHD advocacy groups’ material. worrying?

“I will be struck down by the God of Midwifery for this, but I don’t think the ideology in the model is fit for purpose in the 21st century. It’s become like a religion.” A huge thanks this midwife & others - who have been brave enough to talk to the Sunday Times 🙏

Let’s be clear, the way that we were treated was not as a result of staffing numbers or funding. The labour ward was neither understaffed nor over stretched, according to the Coroner’s examination of both of these areas. 1/ https://t.co/nr9wBDseb5

Wakefield is a fraud whose work has resulted in immense harm to children and public health. Interestingly, before he broached the idea in his most famous fraudulent article, no one thought to claim that their kid was turned autistic by vaccines. That was all post-Wakefield!

Time to conduct science with integrity. Time to apologize to Dr. Andrew Wakefield and all the others who were maligned and vilified for simply asking the right questions.

The central moral question is 'who decides'. The report (unlike this article) has a clear answer through decades of thinking, writing, and running abortion services, by the authors combined. Nothing trivial about it. By way of background: https://t.co/y1ncihIogE @AnnFuredi

Many people fear parenthood at least in part because standards for parenting are so high. People who want kids delay (“I need to get rich first”), and couples who do have children often stop at one or two because high-intensity parenting is exhausting. The good news is that you

This is the report about the abortion law in Scotland that isn't, in fact, about anything the Telegraph says it is. It is a shame so many who say they are for the rights of women clearly haven't bothered to read it before creating a storm of hostility https://t.co/QBAnGuB2m3

@JournalistJill The only way to ban abortion for certain reasons is to interrogate every woman on why she wants to end a pregnancy, and allow the State to force her to give birth if her reasons aren't good enough. This proposal makes sure that the only person who controls a woman's body is her.

No surprise that an acupuncturist, homeopaths, chiropractors & hypnobirthing practitioners have signed. The former CEO of NCT, who was in post during the build up & implementation of normal birth policies, has also signed.

What action will @nmcnews and @MidwivesRCM be taking about this? Do midwives and nurses who signed the letter need to attend a compulsory course (like drink drivers) to teach them that babies brain injured preventably at birth is not media sensationalism? I am speechless.

A generation ago, adults tended to rely on plain descriptors. A kid was shy. A kid was disruptive. Now we reach more quickly for clinical language. The shy child becomes a case of anxiety. The disruptive child becomes someone with ODD. The behavior hasn’t necessarily changed, but

We don’t think parents send their children to school for ‘brain reprogramming’ or to become‘inequality disrupters’. Nor is that what tax payers expect. These third party organisations should not be in schools. It’s more than a one -off. Why nothing in the curriculum review?
