This Fire Prevention Week, remember to check your smoke alarms! It's as easy as 1-2-3: 1.) Press the test button 2.) Listen for three beeps to know the alarm is working 3.) Check the date of the alarm. If it's more than 10 years old, replace the alarm.

A flood watch is in effect for parts of southwestern Colorado through Saturday afternoon, due to the remnants of Tropical Storm Priscilla. Flash floods may develop along burn scars and higher elevations, and knowing the difference between a watch and warning could save a life.

Strong communities are built on strong partnerships. We're grateful for @tylertech, who recently helped us assemble 200 emergency kits—just one of the many ways they're supporting families throughout Western Colorado and beyond. Together, we're making a meaningful difference.

Fires in the kitchen while cooking are the leading cause of home fires! 🔥 If an oven fire does happen, leave the door closed and call 911. 🍳 When frying food, turn the burner off if you see smoke or if the grease starts to boil. Carefully remove the pan from the burner.

You may not want to think about it yet, but winter is coming. Now is the time to make sure your home is prepared for colder weather: 🪟 Caulk spots where air leaks out, including around windows or doors. ❗ Remember to remove the old caulk first before applying new caulk.
