The recent success of Amazon Prime’s new docuseries “Soul Power” has refocused attention on the ABA, and the NBA’s continued refusal to adopt its statistics. As part of the 1976 inter-league agreement, the ABA was dissolved, which permitted the NBA to absorb four of its teams.

@brettmgoldberg Question: did you ask Rick Barry his idea why the Warriors turned down a showdown with the ABA champion Colonels and who he thought would win? He started for that Warrior team but only recently left the ABA, so he would have a great perspective.

One of the greatest beneficiaries of including ABA stats in NBA records would be Artis Gilmore. Including his ABA stats: •Adds nearly 10k points •Adds ~7k rebounds •Adds ~750 blocks Those additions lift Gilmore into an all-time elite tier on career leaderboards.
